In some traditions, November’s #FullMoon is the Mourning Moon, and marks a time of reflection and release. Often the last full moon before the #WinterSolstice, it invites us to grieve what is lost, honour what has been & clear space for renewal in the year ahead. #WednesdayWisdom

In the second series of our Wildflower of Newmarket events celebrating nature, I'll be giving a talk this Saturday morning on creating nature habitats in your home garden or community setting. Come along if you're curious about how to begin this journey
OVPLT held the first of a planned series of lunctime walks for staff yesterday. We were lucky to have the sun shining as @jdmurph73 led a tour around UCC's beautiful collection of trees and shrubs. Looking forward to part two already!
First of a series of lunchtime walks for @OVPLTUCC staff and friends was a guided stroll through the @UCC arboretum. @jdmurph73 gives a curatorial tour of our living treasures.
The meadow and no mow areas have all been cut. The cut material is left for 4 to 7 days for the seeds to drop. We are now in the process of raking off and removing all the cut material. This helps in reducing the fertility of the soil and an increase in diversity next year 🤞
Wonderful to open the garden sanctuary @GreenCampusUCC@UCC ! Huge thanks to our colleagues @CACSSS1@uccsoc ! Creating a ‘hares corner’ for reflection and enquiry & learning!
UCC'S green campus is full of surprises. Discovered by Head Gardener @jdmurph73 last year, and confirmed again in same spot during fieldwork by Green Campus Greenshoots Coordinator Irene Ní Shúilleabháin this year: Nettle-leaved Bellflower. Rare and protected in Ireland.
