Spent the weekend holding a jig-tying class and then a Learn To Fish event. Had a great turnout and lots of fun helping the folks catch fish some for the first time!!!!
Today is a happy but sad day for the Dockery household. Jolene fished what we think is her last kids' tournament before she ages out of them. That is the sad part. The happy part is that she won the most fish and set the kids' tournament record of 92 fish
The pre-spawn for crappie is going strong in Northeast Missouri. Took about an hour to get a limit of crappie and bluegill today. Plus, one panfish eating bass. Now we wait and see if the snow they are calling for tonight is real or not...
The wind really had it out for me today. The crappie wanted to bite, but the wind had other plans. The one bass I got today hit like a train, but by the time I got him in, he didn't even want to swim back out, so he came home too!!!
@TheCrappieNinja No, I was going to try and make it by the end of next week, but now it looks like rain most of the week, so I think I am going to have to put that trip off for a bit.
Didn't get my limit again today, but think I'm still ok crappie fishing. Going to go try first thing in the morning and see if I can't get on the big ones.
Was on them today till the cold front came down and the wind picked up to about 40 mph. They are starting to get some color to them, but still some time before the crappie spawn kicks in.
