@CallMeGdubG delve gear can scale to mythic after the .1.5 patch so that will be a real source of bis
it's moreso the fact that like 98% of my gear is from raid/crafting that is the issue
I have 3 characters above 333 ilvl this season
they are collectively wearing more pieces from delves (1) than they are from dungeons (0)
I don't think we've ever had a season with such abysmal gearing outcomes
Your Mythic+ season is getting quieter… runs fell 13.86% in week 8 as players farm heroic raids instead, and MN S2 is now 28.39% behind last season’s pace. ⚠️ https://t.co/aG5hKBsxor #Warcraft#Midnight
it'll be interesting to see how balancing changes on wowf feel where it takes weeks to level a new character instead of hours. fotm rerollers are gonna have anxiety attacks
the .7 patches are like when your raid leader tells you to empty the bag but your defensive and health pot are already on cd so you just try to find a healing rain or efflo to stand in
a symptom of cooldowns being so important in retail. if dps checks are sprinkled throughout a fight with variable timers, you either have to force your own timers so ppl know when to send or be confident that you overgear the fight so much that the checks are trivial
and to be clear, I don't expect devs to be on here. shit can be exhausting. and yet several of the wowf devs are on here interacting while retail is all corporate communication. it sends a message whether intended or not
one of the immediately noticeable differences between retail and forever is that devs are on here being accountable for wowf
I don't think anyone speaks for retail anymore
retail raiding has a "the last two bosses are fucking insane" problem caused by wanting something to challenge rwf guilds
blizz needs to come up with a separate thing to keep these guilds occupied that the rest of the raiding population doesn't have to engage with
@Tom56584658 no they are beta testers for themselves
the version of the boss that liquid and echo kill is a version that will be killed by about 15 guilds before it gets nerfed for the next 50 guilds and then nerfed again for the next 150 guilds and then nerfed again for the next 500 guilds
this week is a strong reminder that most mythic guilds are held together by like 2-5 ppl that are willing to put in 10x more time and effort than the raiders that watch a 5 min vod before each boss
if those guys get tired or quit wow, the whole guild explodes instantly
tbh my takeaway from the interviews was that wowf is vertical but blizz knows a lot of players are in love with this horizontal idea so blizz doesn't want to just outright say it's vertical bc it will piss ppl off
Forcing horisontal progression on a game that will have new content being released frequently is a mistake I think. How do you make it work? On one hand you want new gear and raids feel valuable, nothing feels better than seeing the power of a new juicy weapon.
But years into the game how can you make level 60 dungeons and raids like onyxia still be something people want to run for gear?
@AmbitionandWill one of those is a very vague statement -- "everything should stay meaningful"
the other is a very specific action -- "soft ilvl resets"
I know which of those I will put more stock in
@AmbitionandWill saying "we will prob need to soft reset ilvl occasionally" doesn't sound particularly hybrid. it sounds like exactly what happens on retail which is vertical as hell
