World Cup Predictions (for fun, not supposed to be an extremely serious prediction lol)
*Green dots in the first image are the third place teams that advance
Golden Boot - Haaland
Golden Ball - Yamal
Golden Glove - Pickford
@GoldsteinRec Well I have Norway making the QF. I think for Spain, France, England the goals will be spread around a lot more, while with Norway, Haaland would be the primary goal scorer. I donโt think anyone from Portugal or whatever would win it
I donโt dispute that, the way Arteta set up tonight makes 20/21 Chelsea look like a Bielsa team lol, idk what he was thinking.
But I also donโt think Sakaโs the type of player that can be that individual game winner/heroball type of guy. Which isnโt necessarily a bad thing, being able to perform well in a system is a good quality, but it doesnโt help in matches like the one today
Iโve never really been a huge fan of his, felt he started getting pretty overrated in terms of his actual ability and even performances to an extent.
but tbf, with how Arsenal play sometimes (like they did tonight), kinda hard for an attacker to do much of anything (granted I donโt think Saka is the guy that can be that one man individual brilliance game changer in any case, but still)
I mean the usual suspects for the most part..
need another LW/L10 yet again, maybe Gittens will be kept around
Neto needs to go unless he plans on using a back 3, with him at LWB
I think thereโs a good chance Cucu/Gusto/Enzo leave, so replacements for them, maybe even a starting level RB/RWB if he wants to use a back 3, not sure heโd want James as a wingback.
Iโm not convinced about Emegha, but I donโt think weโll bring another CF
If Enzo leaves, probably a more ball dominant/positionally disciplined partner for Caicedo, though maybe the plan is to use Barco there at least some of the time.
Iโm still not 100% sure about Palmer being at his best in a strict positional system like this, I think he can adapt, but maybe not hit his old levels.
Need at least one other CB, curious to see if one or both of Anselmino/Sarr will be integrated.
I think Penders should be on loan again, not ready for the starting job and not worth risking his development. Fine with Sanchez for a year or two again, or maybe an older stop gap keeper. Jorgensen needs to leave, never liked him
This account is fairly dead, but I am legitimately curious: Who do you want as next Chelsea manager, and why? I personally want Iraola, but for once I actually like a number of possible candidatesโฆ some Iโm not that familiar with
Have some self respect manโฆ embarrassing thing to say (particularly considering you got a few very generous calls yourself). Arsenal put one shot on target in 120 minutes, did pretty much nothing for the entire match after scoring. Lucky it even made it to ET/Pens
@yo_it_is_kg@ChAmpsFC_ Overall itโs fine but 1000% need some personnel changes if itโs going to thrive, thereโs a decent number of players in the team we canโt expect to work in his style (like we saw them not work with Maresca)
โWhy argue with an Arsenal fan when you can just wait?โ We waited. We won. We are champions of England - and we are just one game away from being crowned champions of Europe. Read my piece on what Arsenal means to me here: https://t.co/J6cg388mRH
In practice, it ended up being valid since the team outside of Messi only managed 3 goals the entire tournament, one of them coming from Rojo, a defender. Higuian was a disgrace in particular.
Itโs not like itโs a bad team, but if you took away Messi, nobody would view that squad as potential WC winners..
compare that team to like France 2018, Germany 2014, Spain 2010. Take away who you think was the best player from each of those squads, and the teams are still top level contenders.
Even back in 2014, take away Messi, and nobody is looking at a frontline of Lavezzi, Higuian, Di Maria/ Enzo Perez and viewing them as favorites to win the World Cup. Thatโs the point people are making
Sometimes I wonder if you guys understand the concept of time
Most these players at the time were above average/top players in their clubs
Higuain was going crazy with Napoli, Mascherano had just won the player of the year for Barcelona, the whole defence was solid
Pretending that Argentina squad was ass is just revisionism
Will probably surprise some of you, but Iโm not against it. Probably not the most expensive option, a good player whoโs had consistent output for a while, versatile, I think heโd fit well under Xabi, good locker room/culture fit IMO. Would much rather have him than Gittens/Neto/Delap/Garnacho/etc. weโll see
๐จ BREAKING: Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in Jarred Bowen, believing he could offer competition down the RW and cover for STโs. (@guardian_sport) #CFC https://t.co/N2ppVFVJtP
