@GS_MCM@Zoom Thanks for the tips Gary. I actually grew up with Apple IIs & Macs and was a certified Apple tech out of high school, so this is more like knocking off really old cobwebs. Still looking for the "Open Apple" key...
Well, Halloween came early for me as it definitely feels like I'm in the Twilight Zone this morning. Fumbling around with a MacBook preparing for employee orientation on my first official day at @Zoom. Being well out of my comfort zone is unsettling, yet exciting.
After 11 years at Polycom I'll be turning these in tomorrow with mixed emotions. Will certainly miss all the @PolyCompany faces I've been on daily video calls with for the past decade but am also excited to embark on a new venture!
@tobiefysh@PolyCompany I'm taking a break from the blog but I'll be back posting content of some sort once I get a feel for what value I can add to the UC community in my new role.
@JeffGoldman10 VVX phones do not yet work directly with Teams, you still need to leverage the 3PIP gateway by registering the phone to SfB Online with a Teams-enabled user. This service is still running regardless of the SfBO retirement a few months ago. https://t.co/cIKEYCprit
Up until last week I could have truthfully said that I've never sat through a 1 hour youtube video on anything work-related. This is top-notch content from @flinchbot and I might just scrap the article I was working on. https://t.co/GsGG6zI2Zu
Latest 3.6 firmware release for @PolyCompany Studio X30/X50 is now published in the #MicrosoftTeams Admin Center and officially supported for Teams. Includes several fixes addressing past video transmission and touch control pairing issues.
@crslng@tysons941@MicrosoftTeams Technically it's a change in the Microsoft Company Portal app Update #1 (which was bundled in 7.0.2 firmware). If Intune enrollment fails then Teams sign-in is blocked by the device. In older APKs enrollment failures were ignored.
@ahaak@mcobby13 Device Administrator is not required to enroll Teams devices, but it's the only enrollment method which supports device-level policy exceptions. With Android Enterprise you would need to define user-level policy exceptions which may not be desirable.
@mcobby13@ahaak Two things: 1) 7.0.3.0228 is not supported with Teams, you should be on 7.0.3.0347. 2) I'm waiting for more details from Microsoft on root cause/remediation for all of these login failures related to device enrollment failures.
Latest #MicrosoftTeams updates for @PolyCompany CCX and Trio C60 are now live in the TAC. UCS 7.0.3 includes Update #2 with new features: https://t.co/G8Pj63WL5Z (TrioC60: 7.0.3.0342 and CCX: 7.0.3.0347)
@SosemanMatt Depending on the platform and hardware you'll rarely see 1080p. For example unless you are in a 2-party call/meeting in Teams the best you're sending/receiving is 720p anyway. @tomarbuthnot is spot-on with his comments about camera lens quality. Also room lighting is key.
