Nice of the state to admit they just don’t have time to vet these multi-million-dollar contracts for things like, uh, crooks...

NEWS: I’ve never been more proud of the ⁦@MiamiHerald — fighting Governor ⁦@GovRonDeSantis⁩ whose ignorance has led to countless people getting sick — esp the elderly. The Herald is standing up for those older citizens by suing his ass. https://t.co/6WHQHU1T9t

We’re still moving ahead with the @miamiherald lawsuit against @GovRonDeSantis with a new firm, Thomas & LoCicero, which has built a reputation for representing media companies fighting to get access to government records

[Mindy Marques @MindyMarques]

We fully plan to file this lawsuit, thanks to @talkconlaw @TLoLawfirm - unless, of course, @RonDeSantisFL’s office agrees to release the records. @MiamiHerald @mcclatchy

[Amy Driscoll @DriscollAmy]

We are still filing this lawsuit. Anyone with a relative in an elder care facility has the right to know if there has been a case of coronavirus.

[Nicholas Nehamas @NickNehamas]

The Herald’s lawyer Sandy Bohrer did the right thing. Despite pressure from his bosses and the state, he told us exactly what was going on. We need more people like Sandy.

[Jim DeFede @DeFede]

This ⁦@MiamiHerald⁩ story is amazing on two levels. First, the story itself is insane. But the willingness of Sandy Bohrer to be quoted is a true profile in courage. I’ve known Sandy for years. He’s been my attorney at times. And he is a man of honor https://t.co/bucqXRGUCo

[Matt Haggman @matthaggman]

Shame on ⁦@Holland_Knight⁩.

When I was at ⁦@MiamiHerald⁩ I remember going to court with Sandy Bohrer to fight for transparency in government. He was terrific. H&K never flinched. How times change. Chesterfield Smith would not be proud. https://t.co/rlnGFGnTEq

Miami Herald drafts lawsuit seeking records on elder care homes with coronavirus. Governor's office threatens Herald's law firm into not filing it. By @dchangmiami https://t.co/FVY6xZPAOn

NEW: When ⁦@MiamiHerald⁩ planned a lawsuit demanding state follow the law and disclose elder care facilities with #COVID19 cases, ⁦@GovRonDeSantis⁩ aide threatened the law firm. Holland and Knight caved. ⁦@MiamiHerald⁩ will get new lawyer

COVID cover-up: @GovRonDeSantis aide pressured @MiamiHerald's law firm @Holland_Knight to quash public records lawsuit that would force state to divulge elder-care facilities with positive coronavirus tests #BecauseFlorida https://t.co/5AKs0cSdpW

[Chuck Rabin @ChuckRabin]

Again, this is why local journalism matters: Herald drafted a suit seeking ALF records. DeSantis aide pressured law firm not to file it https://t.co/omy5PnOMgb

[Jay Ducassi @jducassi]

Wow. A major lawfirm that’s represented the Miami Herald for years, Holland & Knight, just caved in to the gov and dropped a lawsuit we filed to identify elder-care sites where someone tested positive for COVID-19. We just got another law firm.

We think the public ought to know which nursing and adult care homes in Florida have COVID-19 cases. @GovRonDeSantis apparently does not. Here's what his staff has done to stop it. https://t.co/khwqlQm1F6

[Jay Ducassi @jducassi]

@the_plantain Huh. I had no idea there was a third Cuomo brother. I wonder what @ChrisCuomo and @NYGovCuomo gotta say about this....
