@abhay_sudhir@interaction Ask it to play a game and see if the stripe API will let it generate a subscription for $0. It obliged for me and let me sign up.
@TGUPJ Would it be possible to allow providing an API token when using the Local AI model functionality? This would let users leverage OpenRouter and BYO whichever model they like.
@SophiasHotTakes@mattyglesias Lead-acid is also heavily constrained on charge rates, needing a slow trickle charge to balance and bring them back up to a 100% charge state (ie. days to fully charge). LFP and other lithium chemistries happily support 1C charge rates, fully charging in an hour (or less).
@SophiasHotTakes@mattyglesias The cycle life of lead-acid (even SLA) is much much worse than li-ion, let alone modern LFP chemistries. Lead-acid would be lucky to deliver 200 80% DoD cycles before needing replacement. LFP will happily do 5000+ cycles.
@scottleibrand@ethan_aicrit@sdamico Except those chips are covered by so many patents itโd be almost impossible to get a custom WiFi/Bluetooth controller off the ground without licensing the IP from someone else.
@DaveTelvick @Jordan_W_Taylor @DirkBruere Batteries last much longer than 5-7 years. Current LiFePo4 batteries you can buy for $500/kWh TODAY have a rating of 7000 cycles to 80% capacity. Thatโs fully discharging the battery every day for 19 years. And the battery still works beyond that time, just with reduced capacity.
@jh3yy The amount of times I could have used having an โanimation-repeat-delayโ but instead I have to trial and error padding out the end key frame percentage to get a desired delayโฆ ๐ฌ
@geerlingguy This has the benefit of leveraging two high volume controllers (Intel TB3 controller and standard server 10GbE controller). I would imagine thereโs very little use for a USB 3.2 to 10GbE chipset outside of USB adapters, and even then that market is likely to be very small.
@zipcpu Can you slow the link down and drop a scope or logic analyser on it? ngscopeclient can decode all the way up to L4 (iirc), if you have a scope that is supported.
@cnlohr@cursedconnector But you know itโll be a screenshot of a table embedded in a PDF as a low quality bitmap that you have to OCR to get the data out of ๐
@jason_kint I have to say, after reading this email thread, I have much more respect for Anil as the head of Chrome. Seems they have the interest of users, Google and the Chrome team well balanced in this entire discussion. Canโt be easy fending off the Adโs and Search teams all the timeโฆ
@SebAaltonen Itโs funny, scrolling past this in my timeline I thought youโd posted a screenshot from a game made in the early/mid 2000โs. Only upon a closer look did I realise this is Starfieldโฆ ouch.
@xik_le@SebAaltonen If you put your phone on battery saver mode, the screen refresh rate drops to a fixed 60Hz. No idea what it does to game performance, but worth a shot.
