Il riscaldamento della nazionale senegalese. La World Cup, nonostante le divisioni imposte da Trump, continua a celebrare l'identità dei Paesi partecipanti e la voglia di condividerla con gli altri.
It's Scotland's first World Cup appearance in 28 years, and fans have been spotted throughout Boston reveling in the excitement of the tournament with song, chants and bagpipes.
Congolese fans are out in the streets celebrating that draw against Portugal. They had never scored a goal at a World Cup before. Absolute scenes in Kinshasa.
Expanding this tournament to include more teams is giving us some of the best moments by far.
Eleven years ago today, nine Black worshippers were murdered during Bible study at Mother Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston.
Rev. Clementa C. Pinckney. Cynthia Hurd. Susie Jackson. Ethel Lance. Rev. Depayne Middleton-Doctor. Tywanza Sanders. Rev. Daniel Simmons Sr. Rev. Sharonda Coleman-Singleton. Myra Thompson.
We say their names and remember the sacredness of their lives.
This was not only a mass shooting. It was a heinous act of white supremacy carried out in a house of worship. We must tell the truth about that hatred, grieve what it stole, and remain committed to dismantling the violence of racism in every form.

The marketing around having kids is so bad
Infinite negative questions around how you're sleeping, help is expensive, travel is hard, etc etc
Almost no one talks about how fun it is. Right now she's in a stage where few things are as fun as just watching her for 1-2 hrs
Aaron Tucker had been out of prison for seven days. He had less than $2 in his pocket and one shot at turning his life around, a job interview that morning. Then he saw a car flip over and catch fire from his bus window.
He asked the bus driver if he was going to help. "No, but if you get out I'm going to leave," the driver replied. Tucker got out anyway.
He sprinted toward the upside-down, smoke-filled car and found the 61-year-old driver covered in blood.
He unbuckled the man's seatbelt and dragged him clear as the car started to catch fire.
He pulled off his own dress shirt and used it to stop the man's head wound from bleeding, telling him: "You're going to be all right. Your family wants to see you. Keep your eyes open."
The bus left. Tucker missed his interview.
When the story got out, strangers set up a GoFundMe that raised over $50,000 in three days. He also received multiple job offers in construction.
"I feel like a job can come and go, but a life is a one-time thing," Tucker said. "The job just wasn't in my mind at that time."
Imagine if every passenger on an airplane had a direct line to the pilot.
That’s what medicine has become.
We have embraced frictionless communication and that not a good thing.
With things like Epic Chat, every member of the healthcare team has immediate access to the physician.
Now there’s a constant stream of minor questions. It’s discouraged people from thinking critically. “Just ask the doctor,” has replaced any sort of clinical reasoning.
When I was a resident, we had an answering service. Anyone who wanted to reach the doctor needed to go through a third party. This provided triage and accountability. If we were getting called in the middle of the night for stool softener orders, there was a record of that.
A little friction in communication is a good thing.
Alma was a healthcare worker for over 25 years. She had insurance. And when her oncologist recommended MD Anderson for a second opinion, they told her it would be $16,000 upfront just to be seen.
She couldn't afford it. She didn't get the care.
Alma passed away.
I stood up to honor her today because she deserves to be remembered. And because her words are still doing something — still making people uncomfortable in the right way.
"If they treat me like that, can you imagine how they treat someone that doesn't know anything?"
No. We shouldn't have to imagine it. We should be outraged by it.
Alma's name means soul. And I felt her soul in that room today.
Rest in power, Alma. We're still listening. 🤍
I’m always happy to have respectful conversations about vaccines. But it is difficult when people don’t know or won’t acknowledge the facts. The countries with the highest life expectancies – far higher than the United States – have more recommended vaccines and higher uptake.👇🏽
This is a devastating interview.
Scott Pelley tells the NYT that Bari Weiss directly put a “thumb on the scale” for Trump over the killing of Renee Good.
Here’s his explanation of exactly what happened.
There’s been a lot of talk in this race about what makes a "real man."
A man does what’s right when no one is watching. He upholds his commitments to his family and neighbors. He doesn’t lie, cheat, & steal his way through life.
Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves.
An unprecedented decision: The NC State Board of Education's Independent Interscholastic Athletic Appeals Board has overturned the viral disqualification of Mallard Creek track star Nyan Brown in the NCHSAA 8A state championship meet.
Mallard Creek is now the co-8A state champion with Jordan High School.
The NCHSAA’s Board of Directors convened for an emergency meeting on Tuesday morning to confirm the decision, which was passed down from the Athletic Appeals Board.

Incredible! Scientists receive a rare standing ovation after announcing that a new treatment can double the survival time for pancreatic cancer, the deadliest cancer once considered “undruggable.” When we fund and support science, we can achieve anything!
