@eyayaw@frectonz@YafetGetch lol, Devault, out of all people, making a blog post about "weird guys". why didn't he put himself in there too?

@theepiest @that2art @Lunascaped@Porkbun .my domains have WHOIS privacy provided by the registry. (and they're not the only registry that does this)

@yassine_safr@maria_rcks a personalized marketing email is still a marketing email.
if the recipient is in the EU, these cold emails are unlawful.
collecting and processing the email address (to send unsolicited email) also violates GDPR (it needs a lawful basis) and GitHub's ToS.
@renevanpelt@maria_rcks@euler2074 1. doesn't matter
2. somebody sent an unsolicited marketing email to an address that was not shared publicly for that purpose* ftfy
3. marketing emails are not private messages.
also, harvesting email addresses from GitHub to send unsolicied emails is against their ToS.
@_rram12@maria_rcks@euler2074 a public email address doesn't mean you're free to send or that i want receive unsolicited emails about your shitty product/project.
a screenshot from GitHub's Acceptable Use Policies, hope this helps.
@remain_urus@maria_rcks@euler2074 ye, it's spam. not only that, but B2C cold emails are illegal in the EU. (ePrivacy Directive)
also if you got the email address via GitHub contributions, that's also illegal under GDPR. (and prolly against GitHub's ToS)
@Fowzy__@IntCyberDigest yes, the registry operator, the organization that adds your domain to the DNS and makes it available to the public, can, shockingly, also remove it from the DNS.
your last question is completely irrelevant to what's happening here. but to answer it, no, TLS exists.
@coolkoon@StanleyMasinde_@stupidtechtakes if this is such a wild and unheard-of concept to you, then maybe pick up a service that claims to encrypt your data client side and read their security whitepaper/architecture to see how they do it.
also, while you're at it:

@refractiveecho @stupidtechtakes A VPN is just a glorified proxy. A site would just see a different IP address.
Wow, congrats, you changed one thing out of a dozen that can be used to fingerprint you. That's like putting a fake mustache on and thinking you changed your whole identity.
