How do you measure the value of a human life?

People infected through NHS blood and blood products were subjected to unethical practices and many died as a result.

Today, many bereaved families are left asking why those who paid the ultimate price can receive substantially less compensation than those who survived.

For many of us, it feels as though the lives of our loved ones have been valued at less than the compensation once associated with research chimpanzees.

No family is saying that survivors deserve less.

We're asking why those who died after enduring so much appear to receive less recognition.

A life lost should never be worth less.

These are just some of the faces of people whose lives were stolen by the infected blood scandal.

Their families have waited decades for justice.

Now, even in death, many bereaved families are facing delays, unfair rules and a compensation scheme that still fails to recognise their loss.

Death should never mean less justice.

Interim payments to estates became law (in the Victims & Prisoners Act) two months ago, yet, people still can't even make applications for these payments to be delivered by @NHSBSA.
