Dr Rosemary Biggs, a central figure in haemophilia care at the time, observed in December 1970 that “the collection of 49 haemophilic patients at the Alton School makes this a unique opportunity to study the disease.” Each year a number of studies were in progress: research was conducted at Treloar’s to an extent which appears unparalleled elsewhere."
