@TheBigHurtHQ@ReviewsPossum Also operators not understanding their indications, specifically the Valve Position Indicators not indicating actual valve position but what they were commanded to be. Pretty much just a bunch of human errors combining into the perfect stormm
@TheBigHurtHQ@ReviewsPossum Well, kinda. The reactor scammed automatically but a primary relief valve was stuck open, along with emergency injection pumps having their discharge valves shut from prior maintenance. The systems themselves didnt really fail, more like the people who operate them.
@MichaelCal3302@CisSiberian@ReviewsPossum You'd be surprised at how often the "radioactive water loss" situations happen in the sub force. Often it just causes increased scrutiny on whichever command it happened ar.
@BovodioToad@BarksAtStars@ShamashAran@JoshuaMyth The internet is getting bigger and require more server space for memory and important programs. A lot of people dont know this but AWS (amazon) props up a substantial amount of internet infrastructure. Then there's AI, which requires a lot of server space.
@BovodioToad@ShamashAran@JoshuaMyth In places like that they use a different method of cooling that is designed with those limitations in mind. Im not very familiar with them though
The power issue regarding data centers is already in the process of being sorted. Cookie cutter SMR's (small modular reactors) like they use on subs are being designed and approved for use at breakneck speed. Data centers will soon be self sufficient and could export excess power.
@BovodioToad@ShamashAran@JoshuaMyth I work at a data center. Makeup water is used to replace the water that evaporates in the cooling towers as a result of evaporative cooling, but the water that is lost goes into the atmosphere and eventually returns as rain.
@kripchakmentum Saying "this state sucks" is another way of saying "look at what can be made better" whereas on the flip side its magical fairy land, not acknowledging serious issues
