however, i ordered three tickets and they only gave me one set of the extra goods, so my friends who got tickets in the same order number as me wont seem to get anything despite me declaring i ordered 3 tickets on the form :(

while I disagree with filing our pockets with subscription services

there is a time and place for plex to exist

I run jellyfin coexisting with plex for now while I make judgement on comparing the experience and determining if it is really right for me

plex’s purpose is convenience and a plug and play solution, while jellyfin serves as a utility for my media with advanced tools

you state it yourself, jellyfin may have a worse experience, and while it’s important that we support the project to become better, its ability to grow is inherently limited by its nature as a volunteer project, and features like transcoding are difficult to find from apps in the community (infuse only does direct play for example)

The official jellyfin fire tv app simply does not work if your device (or fire tv embedded tv set) fails to direct play and cannot access a transcoding stream, which is likely a bug in the app itself but it hinders the experience nonetheless
