I spoke with my 77-year-old displaced mother in Gaza, who keeps herself updated on world politics. What she said to me was both iconic and ironic: “I had hoped the woman would win because, as a woman, she might sympathize with us—women and children in Gaza and stop the killing. But both are the same—one just smells bad(republicans), and the other has no smell at all(meant democrats).” Even Gazans had hoped but Buden and democrats are arrogant.
