OKTOBERFEST AT SWANNAY BREWERY
Save the date! On 27 and 28 of September we are celebrating Oktoberfest at the brewery.
We're excited to be pouring genuine, imported German Oktoberfest beers in keg and bottle.
Food will be available from Pablos Grill who has been working on an a great German-themed menu. Sausages, sauerkraut, pretzel-style bread, you get the idea.
More exciting details to follow.
Orkney folks, enjoy Swannay beer at the Dounby Show tomorrow.
Scapa Special and Orkney Lager pouring on draught.
Shop and taproom open Dounby Show day as normal, too.
Scapa Special is now available in cans!
We’ve taken our time to refine our canning process, and we’re excited to bring you our flagship pale ale with its signature biscuity malt and crisp hop finish. With rising transport and contract bottling costs, as well as new packaging taxes on our bottles, now is the right time for this bold move, delivering fresher beer at a better price.
Brewed and canned in Orkney, our cans are unfiltered for maximum flavour and are vegan-friendly. Packaging the beer where it’s made is better for the beer - it’s only been in two tanks and hasn’t been on any lorries or ferries.
We’re not phasing out bottles (though at the time of writing they’re temporarily out of stock while we await our contract bottler!). Grab a can and savour the completely-made-in-Orkney hoppy goodness.

BANYAN BUT BETTER
Banyan has had a revamp, and it’s not just the can design.
We always aim for consistency in our beers, but we also strive for excellence. We’ve been happy with Banyan before, but we’re never happy enough.
The newest batch, canned this week, sees some of the most radical changes to parts our brewing process than ever before.
We think the result is a cleaner, hoppier, less bitter, more drinkable beer. Banyan but better.
Like all of our can and keg beers, the batch is 100% made and packaged in Orkney and completely natural - no finings or filtering have taken anything away from this beer. It's slightly lighter in colour than before and we've changed the hop ratios to showcase more of the wonderful Citra.
We think you're going to love it.
Canned and kegged Orkney Session today, very happy with the results.
It’s the most modern this once-a-year beer has been with Citra and Mosaic hops.
10p for every can sold is donated back to @OrkneyFolkFest.
Enjoy the beer, enjoy the festival!
Great to have some beers in the tap room this week.
We’ve updated our keg badges for 2025 and they are looking great (even better in real life).
Tap room will be open Monday to Saturday in April and seven days per week from May.
Hoping you’ll come and see us!
I really want to do something positive for BigBoss's family. Please, if you have the means to help, no matter how big or small, I highly encourage you to do so. They are in the darkest place right now and this will help greatly. Thank you <3 https://t.co/Igxfi7pNbW
The 'Peedie* Taster Box' is the most popular item on our website.
We change the beers in the box every month based on what's fresh and to keep it interesting.
This month, it's lovely bottles + very fresh Banyan.

Banyan is back in cans and kegs!
Still our best selling can and keg beer. It’s our Citra and Simcoe led session IPA.
Banyan, in keeping with our maritime location, is named after the navy’s Banyan parties as it’s the perfect beer for drinking a few of on a beach.
