Here is a play from Round 1 of the CIF Division 2 playoffs against Crean Lutheran (Irvine, Ca) that is the perfect example of every part of “D.A.R.T”showing up in game by our young men!!
Destructive: Pakipole Moala @pakipole_moala (c/o 28’ DB) is very destructive at the point of contact with the ball carrier!
Aggressive: Pakipole Moala (c/o 28’ DB) again, seeing the opportunity to take an aggressive shot on the ball carrier once he squared him up & took it. Ultimately causing a HUGE momentum shift on play 3 of their 2nd offensive drive of the game, after their defense got a 4th and short stop in the red zone.
Braylin Spencer @BraylinSpencer7 (c/o 27’ LB) sees the opportunity to be aggressive & attack the loosely carried football, resulting in a very clean punch out adding on to the momentum shift!
Relentless: All 6 zone defenders in the Fire Zone pressure pursing the ball carrier no matter which part of the field they were when the ball was thrown, and no matter the circumstance of how the momentum started to shift Crean Lutheran when we took the field for this drive. Which led to the field curl/flat defender Jediah Cabs (c/o 27’ DB) getting the clean recovery.
Tough: The mental toughness from Jediah Cabs @JediahCabs (c/o 27’DB) to recognize it is a “clean” football, so that’s the perfect opportunity to scoop & try to score. Along with his mental toughness is the mental toughness from Braylin Spencer (c/o 27’ LB) & Pakipole Moala (c/o 28’ DB) to not get up and immediately start celebrating, but instead get up, pick up a block and finish the play!
