@flashysouI@Le_Unorthodox people watch his videos but almost none of them would genuinely call themselves "fans" of his. dan olson's video on him is great
@pennsilveinian@regularaugust@NB278998 i mean yes. i've always thought of the word "remaster" as referring to just porting a game with the same models and textures but with upscaling or new ui elements or whatever. 3ds version of oot has completely redone environments and character models
@regularaugust no other medium gets treated the way video games do when it comes to remakes. movie remakes are literal shorthand for being lazy, soulless cashgrabs, but add gameplay to it and suddenly nobody is willing to engage with it on its own terms
@regularaugust@NB278998 tthe number of people saying that that was a remaster and not a remake is making me feel like i'm losing my mind. did people change the definitions when i wasn't looking or something? fucking wikipedia calls it a remake!!
@Bringodile@Sweguin7 you absolutely cannot judge the quality of the series from heroes of all things, but honestly if spending a lot of time in menus is a problem for you then these games probably just aren't for you. macro-management is kinda the whole point
@JoshuaMuscat11g@michael30909628@Grummz world's stupidest argument award
i'm sure if they replaced kratos with a random male character it also wouldn't sell as well, but then you wouldn't have anything to cry about
have you ever considered that maybe they just wanted to make a game about a woman?
@Big_Dunc31@lachancenaomi27 i'm sure that she, literally just some fucking guy, knows more about genocide than *checks notes* the international association of genocide scholars
@KalZ_5 in what other medium does this happen as a widely accepted thing? the very concept of a movie being remade is shorthand for the studio being creatively bankrupt and money-obsessed
