A while back, I had a conversation w/ my mom who has dementia.
Me: Happy Mother’s Day!
Mom: Mother? Who?
Me: You! What do mothers do?
Mom: They prepare food.
Me: Haha. What else?
Mom: They provide.
Me: What else?
Mom: They protect.

When I visited Baguio, I tried to speak Ilocano everywhere I went, from the market to restaurants to anywhere else I could, because I miss speaking it. However, almost everyone replied to me in Filipino, with occasional "ngays" and "ngarods" thrown in. 😅
I remember the immense pressure after passing the boards na dapat 100% prepared ako na maging nurse. If I can go back in time and gigisahin ko ang sarili ko, hindi lang gisa ang abot ko- dark roasted. 😅 We all learn along the way… continuously.
Remember when our teachers would have their teaching demos? Our classrooms were in pristine condition, well-prepared lessons, colorful cartolinas, no jackets were allowed, scripted Q&As etc. #reminiscing
Pag hinanapan ako ng yearbook sa immigration—

“Nakurakot po yung funds na dapat pang high school yearbook namin. Nasa akin pa yung resibo in case may refund.” #realtalk
In all fairness, di lahat ng IO masungit/ toxic. Karamihan ng mga na-encounter ko, mababait naman.
This is so frustrating,immigration rant.Hanapan ka ng yearbook ,freaking hilarious, graduation photo ,then may question pa kung hiwalay ba daw mga magulang niya ?
Hindi ko na maintindihan mga tao dyan sa immigration.Ayun,she missed her flight daw.Power tripping ba yan ?Sad
