@BlazerFreeman@bcondotta Same reason John Forslund left the Hurricanes for the Kraken. One of the best in the biz. Lowballed by Dundon so he didn’t re-sign. Poor Blazers….
@EricFrancis Was there for a Ducks playoff game and can attest. The bass just thumps but it all just energizes the crowd. Hate the knights but props to an amazing ambiance.
@ProspectInsider As much as I’ve been frustrated with his play at times this is the epitome of team over self. Great message to send to the rest of the team as one of their leaders. It’s also a bit of realism on his part as he knows Colt is the future at SS and staying in Seattle would be at 3rd
@mikevorel It would be great if the city and county came out and set expectations for interested owners by saying there won’t be any conversations to be had about public financing for a new stadium. Full stop. Make it crystal clear to whoever purchases the team.
@gbellseattle So sorry to hear of your loss. Hold onto and cherish those memories during this difficult time. Those and lots of love and family will help work through the grief.
@mikevorel Met my wife on the patio at an M’s game in 2002. This was before Axe took over the porch! Lol. She was actually sister to a friend I played fantasy football with who was with her.
@ProspectInsider The emotional toll is so draining. No easy answers & heartbreaking when you talk to the kids about what’s going on. Most of the time, acting out isn’t defiance but a reflection of other shit going on in their lives. Hope sister hangs in. We need people like her and kids do too!
@ProspectInsider 3/3. We need to invest in supporting the whole child. Just not learning to read & write, but their social emotional development & support. Including mental health and basic needs. Then students can be ready to learn and maximize their abilities in the classroom
@ProspectInsider For sure. It is so difficult. On one hand we have expectations to teach and “get through” curriculum, and on the other we have these students with massive needs they need to be addressing before they can learn. Hence the babysitting feeling and frustration.
@ProspectInsider 2/3. Covid has accelerated the social/emotional needs, and deficits of students. As we know through research, all the damage done to kids (through many avenues) inhibits the ability to learn, and for some, to even function at the most basic level.
@ProspectInsider 1/2. 25 years in & the demands on teachers and school staff grow each year. This is not whining as teachers LOVE working with kids and LOVE teaching, it’s just that what is being asked of each person, and the system, is unrealistic based on the resources (financially & staffing)
