Odisha is paying the price for its own minerals.
The MMDR Amendment Bill, 2026 undermines the Supreme Court’s ruling protecting states’ rights over mineral revenues.
For Odisha, it means:
🔴 ₹1 lakh crore+ revenue at risk
🔴 Less DMF funding for tribal healthcare, schools & clean water
🔴 More gains for mining companies, less for local communities
Odisha’s minerals must benefit Odisha’s people first.
