We initially expressed deep concern over the incident involving a young woman who was denied entry to a JAMB CBT centre because she was wearing a hijab. However, after listening to the response from the JAMB Registrar on the matter, we have chosen to set aside our initial anger.

That said, we sincerely hope that such an incident will never occur again anywhere in Nigeria. Freedom of religion is a fundamental human right, and no individual should be subjected to unfair treatment because of their beliefs or practices.

We also trust that the young woman involved will receive a formal apology from those responsible and be given the opportunity to sit for her examination without delay.

What is happening in Jos is not purely about religion. It goes deeper into politics, ethnic tensions, and a lack of mutual understanding. Yet, there are still honest voices from both sides who are willing to speak without bias.
