I think you missed the point on this, and your Taylor swift argument falls short of completeness. People are rightfully concerned about warrantless searches (which in many other similar examples it has been held that warrants are required for LE even when purchasing data that is otherwise freely available for purchase on the market).

There is also a high potential pentalty for the public should Flock be negligent with how their systems are applied and how they are secured. They have a duty of care with the information they are gathering on the whole of the population, and their systems are woefully inadequate to safeguard against bad actors using Flock’s data and systems to commit crimes such as stalking or in many cases misidentifying suspects.

If Flock were a truly private commerce company then perhaps your argument would hold more value. However they derive the vast majority of their revenues from government entities, and they are all utilizing Flock’s data as a means to accomplish something no elected official could get away with if they tried to do it themselves in this country.

They are using their own languages and products internally, and many elements of those proprietary tools are not available to the models because they were never trained on them. I think they are finally catching up after realizing this and training their models on their own tools and internally their devs can finally start using agentic coding in meaningful ways instead of constantly fighting it.
