When we talk about Christopher Nolan’s *The Odyssey*, we’ll probably talk about the mythology, scale, cast, locations and spectacle.

But there’s another story happening behind the screen:

The camera.

Nolan chose to shoot the entire film using IMAX film cameras.

Actors rehearse differently. Camera movements must be planned differently. Film has to be loaded and reloaded. Every take has a physical cost.

So when you're watching The Odyssey, you're seeing a filmmaking philosophy.
