@MegBartelt Just such a bad choice to show an example of “fire your advisor”. I knew Ramit was going to add “this is why AUM is bad” to his show but this felt so forced.
@DanielYerger3 You have to apply to get the award? I suddenly feel super naive. I guess that makes sense, but for some reason I always thought it was done on some sort of meritocracy.
@AdviserCounsel Well Said. I feel like the fee only space cannibalizes itself a bit when the real focus should be on the JPMs of the world. Or... THE JP Morgans lol

The whole debate of hourly vs fixed fee vs AUM is misplaced.
Statistically, the vast number of "financial advisors" in the US are employed by businesses that operate like JP Morgan.
@AdviserCounsel I don't think a standalone IAR has to consider other licensures, let alone brokers. Dual registrants should have SOME responsibility considering they are actually licensed as a broker and IAR. Especially considering the conflicts that exist as dually reg.
Just put together my first series of videos! Video is quickly becoming my favorite form of content to produce, but definitely requires the most work.
Happy Friday everyone!
I've now completed a couple Financial Planning Policy Statements. Anyone have success implementing something like this?
