Ukraine is giving all of us the chance to build on shared humanity. Sadly, too many of us work to subvert it. Seeking the next opp’ty to help make great.
@david_cetinkaya@inflammatorydev @dan_abramov "Labelling people wanting equality and human decency as ”extreme left” proves you’re 100% wrong."
True, and more to the point, it proves that the labeller is harbouring far-right viewpoints that are inimical to human progress and community, in this or any other civil community.
@joydivision61_h @jemmaforte I’ve often thought that Starmer is head of the Opposition precisely because he can be counted on not to push “too hard” for Opposition values as Government policy. The Cons dodged a bullet with Corbyn.
@barry_bottle@mrjamesob@iansmit58861933 It could get worse and it will keep getting worse as long as people keep voting for worse and then making our own decisions to not do anything in our own lives. So if the only people participating are our political adversaries, should we be surprised when elections go against us?
@iwaslabour@NorthumbriaPole @nameproblem I’ve always thought that Starmer was the safe, corporatist man thrown into the shadow to make it safe for the Tories to get away with dark money and and such. I stopped saying I supported Labour when he sacked transport spokesman Sam Tarry MP. Not a good look
@lim_jialiang Too many Christian and Muslim Singaporeans can’t understand that the only gods acceptable to Singaporean society is Lee Kuan Yew and His designated heirs. Bigamy & shirk are no laughing matter, you know. “Render unto Lee that which is Lee’s, and that of value to Lee as well.” ½
@BarryNL@meganclarke99@TweetForTheMany True. And Labour will never back it as long as Starmer is in charge and the Tories continue to find him an attractive bogeyman. It’s as though the system is designed to stomp out hope.
@meganclarke99@TweetForTheMany Socialist-principled groups out there; help them win local elections; and then stand as a candidate again once you have a record of helping to win. England needs a real socialist party, and the current Starmerite brand is not fit for purpose. Good luck to you!
@meganclarke99@TweetForTheMany Don’t waste your time appealing. Today’s Labour are more interested in looking enough like Tories to win the votes of those who want to pat themselves on the back for not voting Tory while still voting for Tory-like policies. Do better. Find one of the 1/
@fdbckfdfwd I’m not suggesting that similar things are going on here. But when I see Chinese companies running projects here, along with a flurry of Pte Ltd shops, the back of my mind goes “Hmm 🤔". It would be so easy, given the transparency here… 2/2
@fdbckfdfwd One of my African friends is fond of pointing out that lots of construction gives the third world governments of the region opportunities to be creative in moving money into the right pockets, especially when friends of the top people run those companies. 1/
