NCPG Statement on the Urgent Threat to National Access to 1-800-GAMBLER https://t.co/PuncMMycFX This is not good news and threatens life-saving resources. NCPG has so many more resources than one state can provide.
@DanBarreiroKFAN I am so sad to see this. As a Deadhead, I always enjoyed his stories and you had such a rapport with him. He clearly really enjoyed your relationship!
@FallInPodcast just finished your book, Fall In, and it was excellent! I hope that it is reaching the people who need it. Thanks for your continued service!
@johnkriesel I’m torn on in-game betting. I’m an addict who almost threw my whole life away. 12 years later, I can’t imagine what a disaster in-game betting would have been for me. Still, I’m a free market guy. It’s just going to need more resources for education and treatment.
@julhynes @ChrissyThurmond It was such an honor co-facilitating with you at NCPG this week! In my day job, I’m a Learning and Dev professional, so I appreciate your focus on helping employees truly understand gambling addiction. Let me know if I can ever help!
@BrokegirlCr This is so true! I have a master’s degree with a focus on the psychological manipulation that happens in casinos. I sure wasn’t immune to this addiction. Thanks for posting this, because we spend far too much time calling ourselves stupid.
@TheKeithWhyte1 Just registered for this event, Keith! Thank you so much for your work in this area, @NCPGambling. I've already learned a lot just from this discussion.
Serious question to those fighting gambling harm. Has anyone studied how to address stigma from the public? There’s help for the gambler and family, but this stigma comes from somewhere. It’s still viewed as a moral weakness. How do we change public opinion?
