According to @SLMPD, 8 year shot in the face inside home on 34-hundred block of Cherokee St. Officers rushed child to hospital. Child expected to survive. A 12yr old has been detained. Police say it appears children were playing with firearm.
A Disaster Recovery Center at Union Tabernacle M.B. Church with FEMA Individual Assistance staff opened this morning in the City of St. Louis to help people affected by the May 16 tornado and storms.

American Red Cross has opened another shelter to help those displaced from May 16 tornado. Location is at the Urban League Water Tower Campus, 2141 Bissell St., St. Louis, MO.

One of many pop-up relief sites in north St. Louis where Friday’s tornado left behind devastation. This one led by Sequoi Edwards on corner of West Florissant & Fair. His home was damaged but with so many neighbors in need, he wanted to help give away cold weather and hot food.
Ameren MO estimates power restoration effort will extend into later this week. Company reports power has been restored to 90% of customers since Friday’s tornado. Approximately 350 broken power poles. Images are from The Ville neighborhood where damage is extensive.
