After years of reading and following @sethgodin ‘s work, I continue to be amazed by his perception, clarity, and generosity. Need a spark of inspiration or a tether to get grounded? Yet another great talk with the one and only @TimFerrissShow

At a press conference for the iPhone, Steve Jobs was asked about his message to competitors. His answer was a masterclass in #CX and customer-centric #innovation.
A member of the press asked, "Do you think RIM should be worried and what is the message for them?"
Jobs replied, "You should go ask them, I have no idea what they..."
"What is the message that you're sending them," she presses again.
Steve put the spotlight right where it needed to be, customers. "We're not sending them a message, we're sending customers a message and developers a message that we're going to try to serve their needs. We went around asked a lot of enterprise customers what they wanted. And that's where we got our list from. We didn't make it up ourselves," he responded, passionately.
The only way to way to become a "customer company" is to put the customer in front of strategic decisions because you know and represent them.
Tony Fadell co-created the iPhone.
In his book, Build, he explains why product management and product marketing should be the same role.
"Your messaging is your product. The story you're telling shapes the thing you're making."
I've always believed this as someone who did both.
@jasonrahm@joepruitt@devcentral Wow! The more amazing thing is if you look closely, @jasonrahm is not wearing gloves. What a tough guy… I’ve told that story MANY times.
An amazing podcast from @michaelgervais & Coach Assaiante. Coaches & Parents… I encourage you to go to the 11 minute mark. It’s a reminder that we enter our children in sports at an early age for their enjoyment, teach life lessons & build confidence. … unfortunately

Should it really take @TMobileHelp nearly 2 mos to unlock an iPhone that I own? 6+ support calls. Hours lost. Repeated promises to escalate. Wait 72 hrs. Try again. Painful & still getting billed. Is there someone @TMobile that can help get this resolved? I’d be grateful.
@TMobileHelp That was Jan 6th. 3 more calls, same promises, including this evening. Dunno. Wow. Given I own the phone and I continue to be charged for T-Mobile service and can’t use phone on new carrier (who has received the ported number)... it’s kind of a mess, right?
@TMobileHelp So, Apple rep and I called @TMobileHelp to explain the situation and verify that this was solely in @TMobile ‘s hands. 2hrs23min call incl support from new carrier, Apple, and @TMobile. That was a first for me! Result: promise it would be escalated/resolved in 24hrs via email. 😬
@TMobileHelp Fast forward to January. No change. Called my new carrier who confirmed the phone was still locked. We wondered if an Apple issue? So, he called Apple support. Apple support confirmed that they have no control over the lock - it belongs to the carriers.
@TMobileHelp For sequence, see other reply. But, this was “escalated to another team in a different time zone that we cannot call - can only email.” 😬 Days went by. No change. No contact despite promise of follow up call.
@TMobileHelp Sure. I’ll DM you my account details. In the meantime, let me provide some case notes to catch you up: last spring, we had an iPhone XR damaged beyond repair. Since I was paying ~$20/mo for insurance, I called @TMobileHelp. I was told to replace through AppleCare. Ok. Done. ✅
@TMobileHelp In December, we changed carriers. Existing phones paid for - $0 balance. Number ports and unlocks init’d. All fine except... that phone. You see, @TMobileHelp had not updated IMEI records. Damaged phone unlocked - not the replacement. 2 long support calls to figure out. 3-5 days.
Now that’s my kind of selfie. A remarkable auction underway... Can’t say enough about these heroes and especially Ed White. A courageous trailblazer of epic proportions. RIP. https://t.co/rAVSVWtRfP
