I have a question in 2004 the US won the World Junior Championship in Finland it was momentous! Now it’s almost expected and here we are when we are finally really good in hockey are kids are leaving to play in a foreign country🏒🇺🇸
@BigBagAKnuckles@NCAA@NCAAIceHockey It’s not just the 5 in 5 rule either. Less and less Americans getting chance to play Division 1 because of college programs turning their back on them in favor of international players at an alarmingly high rate.
@MinnHockeyWatch Should we shut down all the other showcases that don’t produce USHL players? If good players come to USHL Combine, they will get picked. It’s the same as any showcase. If you’re good, you’ll get picked.
I can say that this is unequivocally false. I’m an assistant GM and was at the USHL Phase 1 Combine and a number of GMs were there. I enjoyed being there & interacting with players on the teams I coached. There are opportunities to get better, but false statements don’t help.
The difference between the NAHL prospect camp and USHL combine was apparently drastic. I’m told the amount of coaches, scouts, and team personnel at NAHL was impressive. One attendee told me they spoke with dozens of NAHL people. At USHL they never even saw USHL people.
@MinnHockeyWatch This is last I’ll reply to you as I’ve already violated my rule in engaging w/ anonymous twitter account. No where on registration link did it guarantee being drafted by coming to combine. Players at certain showcases throughout season more likely to be drafted than at others.
@MinnHockeyWatch We had another staff member at Phase II Combine. Were you there at either? I’d recommend going to events instead of just commenting from afar. Can only speak to Phase I, but there were players there that were highly sought after and others I’ll be tracking next year.
Last chance to register to be considered in tonight’s Foxboro Summer Prep League Draft. Open to players born between 2008-2011

Congrats to the 10 River Rats who were selected in the 2026 USHL Draft, 11 if you include Jack Queally making the NTDP. Huge credit to Coach Dan Panciocco.
I am super honored to announce that I’m going to be furthering my education and hockey career at Northeastern University. Thank you to everyone who has helped me to get to this point.
I am proud to announce my commitment through the transfer portal to Boston College. I would like to thank my teammates, coaches, and everyone else who helped me along the way.
@BCHockeyBlogger Character driver. One of the all-time great kids. Tough as nails. Team first. Will help Eagles culture and help them win as stay-at-home D.
Big week offensively for Martin, Theodore, Browne, Tracy, Handler, too. Total team effort going 3-0 in round robin.
Few additional shoutouts to Giguere & Ferreira who were terrific on PK & elsewhere.
If USA Hockey kept stats for blocks, no way Ian Sherman wouldn’t be leader.
Rats 18U C Will Manchuso led USA Hockey Nationals in goals (7) and points per game (2.5).
Max Donatelli, Cam MacPherson and Ethan Travis finished in a tie for 4th in points per game (1.75).
Cody Hew finished tied for first in GAA (2.00) while posting .927 save percentage.
