If you use Apple Music or Spotify, you’ve probably noticed that some songs now have moving “cover” images. We made the traditional, static cover for “This” with a modified grade-school spin art machine. But one slow-motion shoot later, and our kinetic cover art was born. In this cool Behind the Scenes piece of that process, you see Steven Meizler and Jeff Desom (who also edited this video) working with us.
When you stream the song on Apple Music, you’ll see the full 35s loop of Motion Cover Art. And when you stream the song on Spotify, you’ll see an 8-second loop running as the Canvas. And, of course, you can stream the song on all other platforms, too. So get to it.
The Collector’s Edition of Everything Everywhere All At Once is out now! @A24 and Thaddeus Ruzicka produced a little feature about the VFX team where we break down our workflow and morning routines. https://t.co/20iP6Z3UVX
Carlos López Estrada and I directed another video for Cuco featuring The Marias. It took many tries and lots of choreographing to get this in a single take. Make sure to check out the behind-the-scenes!

Found this drawing that I made about the state of the music video industry. It was a thank you note to my rep @dougieklinger for all his support. Not all that much has changed since 2019
Fun fact: The texture I used for the sheets whooshing past the camera are from actual IRS tax forms. File this under "totally unnecessary details that no one will ever notice (except I make a breakdown and point it out)". #EverythingEverywhereAllAtOnce#C4D
Happy Tax Day! A ton of r&d went into designing the bagel of @allatoncemovie. Working closely with @Daniels, VFX supervisor @zakstoltz, Lead VFX @ethan_feldbau and Ben Brewer came up with a pre-rendered asset for compositing shots like this one. #aftereffects#vfx
It’s true. We were frustrated with the big post houses and how impossible it was for us to integrate into the traditional vfx pipeline. We hired our friends who we’ve been doing music videos with for the past 10 years, & they did the impossible. If you a vfx nerd READ THIS THREAD
@allatoncemovie is out in cinemas today! I've been waiting for a film like this since 1999 (and somehow I was lucky enough to do a bunch of VFX for it) See it on the biggest and loudest screen you can find! https://t.co/vt1DI7h5Al
