@KipHenley It’s currently overcast at 700 feet in CLT. When the ceilings are that low, it requires them to file an alternate airport in their flight plan. By the FAA regs, they need enough fuel to get to CLT, then their alternate then fly for 45 min beyond that.
@Sir_DavidMartin@elonmusk@Starlink It was a huge game changer for safety of flight. Inflight weather, calling AWOS far out in mountainous areas, live cams, skew t diagram, etc. it’s a huge step back to price it that far out of reach especially since it’s an occasional use low bandwidth tax on the SL network.
@MCCCANM Can you imagine a video play by play like this at some other random job? “Here comes the electrician….BIG spool of cable…oooo he’s got the cable snake in hand! This is going to be good! Wait! Here comes the wire cutters!!!”
@MCCCANM Now they’ve had to come up with “super lounges” like Delta one and United Polaris to make them exclusive again. I have to say, those are on point. Food at D1 lounge at BOS rivaled some
Michelin star restaurant food. The rest…yawn.
@sweatystartup Doodles are mostly all hyper. Unless allergies are a problem, get a dog that sheds if you have to. It’s more important the breed fits your lifestyle. Get a robot vacuum if the breed that suits you sheds a lot.
@Keg767@miami_rick also not faster than private jets like the G650 and Citation X which, by the time the economics Boom shake out, is likely more the competition for clientele than someone flying first on a Boeing or Airbus. But…what will the ultimate top speed be is the ?
@gas_biz Did it 15 years ago. never once regretted it. You have to be serious about staying proficient. Look at a Cirrus SR22. There’s a reason it’s the best selling piston single out there. If you respect your abilities, & train regularly the parachute is a great added safety feature.
@sweatystartup@theppcdude Pilots go 100k into debt and work for poverty wages for a few years until they get to 1500 hours and can work for an airline - if they’re lucky. And then their schedule and base generally sucks until they build seniority. It’s not a walk in the park either.
@seanpatward Creatine. Without a doubt. Even if you’re not working out hard, the sustained energy and mental clarity is noticeable. And for those of us in the northern latitudes - vitamin D3. Significant difference in the winter months. And Magnesium threonaye before bed = better sleep.
@SteveNomadic Also the recovery from tailplane icing / stall is counterintuitive….if improper recognition and recovery technique applied it would only exacerbate the problem.
