I auditioned for the Spurs Jackals yesterday.

Just like last year, I had conversations with a lot of folks I consider amigos about smart beverage habits to endure a long season of yelling strongly for the Spurs - asking Jackals leadership to consider health impacts of Jackal participants - and what Olia - Olive Leaf Tea - San Antonio’s Premier Health and Wellness Beverage - can bring to the fight. Not just for the Jackals themselves but, with the role they increasingly play in our community. With them, I discussed the notion of "Tea Timeouts" (anticipating nationally televised TV Timeouts to be plenty this year), staying "SpursTea" - and what it means to "Hydrate like a Spur" - on our road to the next championsip. I used #Helmets4Health - banging my custom made Spurs helmets loudly - to provide a visual tie to our military community in the arena - "Silver and Black, On the Attack" - and in the fight against precursors to chronic disease - something well documented in olive leaf research - "The Antioxidant Tea" - and well known to affect large portions of our beloved population.

For me, being a Jackal is of course (and firstly) about providing that edge on the court, it is also about our collective wellness on and off the court - a notion of public service - something the Spurs players and organization epitomize. Pop taught me and us that.

So, I tried out again, I stood by my word, and yelled my butt off.
I'm told an acceptance (if they do) email may come in a week or two.

I shot my shot to be a game changer.
