What a way to kick off the season!🏈
Today’s first practice was special as former NY Giants RB and 2x SB champ @AhmadBradshaw came out and worked with our players.
Huge thanks to Ahmad for taking the time to share his knowledge and experience with us. Grateful for the support!
@SteveGelbs@SNYtv The Mets have robbed us of summer. Memorial Day, July 4th, away on vacation watching games with meaning. Long hot summer days watching our pastime. Its entertainment, its religion and its over and has been since the end of April. No one is taking accountability for this mess.
@BNightengale 1) Stearns and Cohen need to talk to the fanbase about their process moving forward. Things could get real ugly.
2)This uneven roster construction is the result of a tug a war between Stearns wanting to build gradually and Cohen wanting to win in the short term. Ex. Bichette
@shea_station Bottomline Lindor needed to pick it up for Soto being injured and has not. If they are unable to handle the pressure of stepping up across the board you will never win consistently . BTW since Lindor has been here the team and Lindor has not been consistent over an entire season.
@Blitz_Burgh Steelers are constructing a roster to compete. I doubt they will let Howard learn on the job. Their approach makes zero sense if that is the case.
@nypostsports Stearns just needed to be honest about his plan. 1) no long term contracts to veterans 2) Let prospects play 3) we are moving on from some core players to allow plan to succeed. Instead he lies to the fans and this is one horse town. Just be honest and that goes for Cohen too.
@stefen_rosner Penalty Kill was too timid became a shooting gallery. Red Wings definitely the better team for most of the game. Injuries taking its toll on this team.
@MarkKaboly Two questions:
1) Steelers are very predictable in their jumbo package any talk of the staff adjusting personnel packages to become less predictable.
2) Secondly, why aren’t they moving DK into different positions (trips, slot, motion and backfield) to dictate matchups?
@jack_sperry Excellent post. I also think the Steelers are tendency heavy with their formation groupings. Therefore regardless of a light box if a NFL team knows you are running it makes it difficult at the NFL level. Steelers need to break tendencies out of these grouping s.
@Steelersdepot If they are going to get the most out of Rogers they can’t be running into 8 man fronts or run playaction in which no one on planet earth is buying on 1st and 2nd down. Need to pass to set up the run. Mason could run this conservative bullshit.
This Labor Day, we honor the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance: the same qualities we strive to instill in our student-athletes.

Kyle Shanahan: “Whether it's [S Malik] Mustapha, whether it’s [QB Kurtis] Rourke, or whether it’s Brandon [Aiyuk]. They're all different stages. With where they're at, I always see them around Week 6, which means that could be Week 10, means it could be Week 5, but that's the area where I start thinking about it, which is a long way away. I know it's not Week 1 or anything like that, so it's something I'm not really thinking about too much.”
@MarkCHealey Hard truths:
1) Philly is better
2) Stearns had a bad offseason with roster construction
3) With pending FA team not close to Championship caliber without crazy payroll
4) There is an organization flaw with offensive approach and development of young players at the ML level
@TheWardyNYM@JacobPiccini Solid move…You have to trust Stearns with these prospects. Met fan coming to the park we are in striking distance with our players slumping. Need either a starter or center fielder and let’s go.
@michaelgbaron Cohen and Stearn’s vision is long term sustainable success. 1) Minor league pipeline to offset huge payroll. 2) Only spend on young superstars that become available via free agency. I doubt they will go all in. BTW Cohen and Stearns have stated the above on several occasions.
@Ben_Yoel Team seems comfortable with failure. Last year Mendoza’s calm demeanor served the team well. This years iteration seems to be made more uncomfortable
