If you have recently moved into a new home and your smoke alarm looks like this, remove the red plastic ring immediately! It is used during construction to prevent any dust or particulate from getting into your alarm but must be removed to detect smoke or CO.

You can buy these today in Home Depot. Some have 10 year batteries. If your CO alarm sounds do NOT press “test” . It will silence the alarm. Call fire to bring detectors. A 10 month old child is gone. $35.00 can save a life. Please be proactive.
