Sadly, this was the last week of our time together in the @YEPeducation program! My learner presented their final product and we sat down together for a final "grading" and reflection! We also made some steps for them to continue moving forward and improving! #LetsTeachAdults
This week, my learner worked more on their final project and we sat down together and did a quick self-reflection activity to summarize their learnings over the course of the past 8 months! #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
This week I had my learner provide me a list of questions that they still had and any troubleshooting errors that they have encountered while working on their project. We worked through these together and then worked on their project #Letsteachadults@YEPeducation
This week I worked with my learner to look for stock photos that they might want to use in their final project. We also covered how to make notes in Powerpoint and Google Slides, as well as how to use presenter view on both platforms! #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
This week, I gave my learner some work time to get started on their final presentation, before spending some time showing them how to use Audacity to "voice-over" slides! @YEPeducation#LetsTeachAdults
As we enter the last month of our sessions, my learner and I had a brainstorming session on their end-of-term project/presentation and what platforms/apps they want to use. We settled on the impact/improvements technology can make in our lives! #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
This week, my learner and I did a mid-term review of some of the topics we have covered so far and then covered various formatting options in Powerpoint as we lead up to their end-of-term project! #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
This week my learner got a Fitbit, so we spent time setting up their account and going through all of the functions. We also connected them with some friends and set up some fun challenges to increase their step count! #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
This week, my learner and I looked at some common errors in Excel formulas and worked through how to fix them! We also practiced using some new formulas that could be helpful moving forward! #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
This week, my learner and I worked through some hotkeys to increase their proficiency with the Microsoft apps and speed up their workflow! Then we got started on a small project using graphs and charts in Excel #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
This week, my learner worked on how to properly vet information sources and reduce their intake of "Fake News"/misinformation, using Google News & Facebook as examples! We are planning to use these skills in some upcoming projects! Stay tuned! #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
Today, my learner and I sat down and discussed what they want to learn this term. We came up with the idea that they would start learning how to troubleshoot issues with the apps they learned and do some projects to apply their knowledge #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
@mwaseem48@YEPeducation Setting up an email with your learner is great and will help them use more platforms and websites, moving forward! I hope your mom enjoys using Spotify, its a great music streaming platform! Great job with your learner this term!
@raven_lovering@YEPeducation This is so great and inspiring Raven, I should do something similar with my learner! A simple gift like this can go a long way in having your learner continue their lessons/learning, even after the term is done! You've done an amazing job with your learner this term!
@schreiderbecca@YEPeducation Amazing Rebecca! This is a great activity to consolidate learning and final(ish) test of the skills they learned this term! Great job with your learner this term!
@teachingtech_ Amazing Kawthar! This is a great activity to consolidate learning! Also, updating a laptop and printing are both essential skills now, especially with all the updates that Microsoft puts out! Great job this term with your learner!
@Vanessa2919999@YEPeducation This is great Vanessa! It's great that you are going to continue to work with your learner after the term is finished and have them consolidate all of the skills they learned! I might do this with my learner too on December 11th now!
This week, my learner set up an online banking account and we went through some of the functionalities of the site, including how to view summaries of debits/credits, setting up bill payments, and etransferring money. #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
@nabilaelahi@YEPeducation This is wonderful Nabila! It's such an important skill for your learner to be able to ask questions, as it helps them learn and helps to inform your teaching! Keep up the great work!
@raven_lovering@YEPeducation This is wonderful Raven! This can be such a difficult lesson and I'm glad your learner was able to master it! I am wondering if you are going to teach her how to ask questions in French, since you've covered basic sentences and answering questions? Great work, as always!
