@frank_seravalli There are more options than a guy with Babcock’s baggage. I just don’t understand the Oilers interest here. They are at a pivotal moment in the history of their franchise, you would think they would avoid the drama that will inevitably follow a Babcock hiring.
@BrysonWright@10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn He was getting paid to be one of the best defensemen in the league. I’d give him benefit of the doubt and say for a 2-3 year span with the Wild he was very good. The other years he was fine, solid, until he wasn’t. He wasn’t even the best D on the team by year 7 of his contract
@BrysonWright@10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn You surmise incorrectly. Not going to have some guy call people “retarded” and become an internet warrior.
Based on his salary and production, my take is my take. He was a disappointment when all is factored in.
Why did Wild buy him out? Was it because he was so good?
@jordan999jdj @10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn Fantastic comeback. Your picture is not Kap you moron. Says it is, but isn’t. Says a lot about your small brain. Get back to your shift at McDonalds. I’m sure they don’t want you tweeting in between flipping burgers.
@jordan999jdj @10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn How much was Barker making? Apples and oranges. Yep, don’t know sports…
Sell a house? I don’t sell houses.
You have a Kap picture as your profile and it’s not even Kap. All you need to know.
@jordan999jdj @10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn played 9 seasons w/the Wild, buddy. Wild were responsible for 98 million, buddy. just under 10 million per year with the Wild. One of the highest paid players and highest paid defensemen and not in any way a top defensemen in the league… Why did Wild buy him out??#disappointing
@jordan999jdj @10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn Number one in minutes? Making 10 mil a year, and if that is the only stat he’s leading or near the top in during his duration with the Wild, then my point is validated, buddy. Was a post about him as a disappointment, not stating he was a terrible player. Barker was bad, yes. 👏
@terryjt1@10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn Also, SLG is NOT tied to batting average… just total bases divided by at bats.
As mentioned, he batted under and near .200 half of his season with the Twins. Thats in line with a good hitting pitcher.
@terryjt1@10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn I understand that, and what SLG % is. I guess if we are content calling him average than that’s fine. However, that was never supposed to the case for him which is why I put him down for this conversation.
@terryjt1@10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn You said “good power”
Yes, in moments and flashes, good power isn’t 25 or more homers four times in nine seasons and never reaching 80 RBIs.
@terryjt1@10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn What are you talking about? Simple question originally posed. We need exact numbers? Look them up if you want. Look at his career stats. If your argument is”average OBP”, ok, 👏
@terryjt1@10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn Hmmm, if we are saying he was “average”, meaning out of the 500-600 batters rostered during a MLB season he ranked somewhere around 250-300 in OBP, I’d say that is bad, again, when compared on what we all thought he could be. 9 season and more than 25HRs just four times.
@jordan999jdj @10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn Sit this one out? 😂
If you have not heard that about him being a bad teammate you don’t know much about hockey, the Wild, or league.
I know it stinks to lose an argument and find yourself in a box.
Still wondering on your “top 5 defensemen during his entire wild stint.”
🤔
@terryjt1@10k_Takes@golf_zone_mn What are the other areas he didn’t struggle? Legit question…
Terrible RBI numbers for a middle order guy, low OBP, WAR is terrible, obviously not stealing or hitting for extra bases…
He batted under .200 in a couple seasons!
