🚨 All Schools Closed Tomorrow 1/10/25
Good Morning Arcadia Unified Families and Community,
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. The windstorm and its aftermath have created uncertainty for many in our community, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation while we work to prioritize everyone’s safety.
After careful consideration, all Arcadia Unified Schools will once again be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 10 along with all school services and activities. Two campuses are still without power as of this morning. We have many staff members who have been greatly impacted by the fires, and are still evacuated or are taking care of family members who are. Please keep them in your hearts and minds. Fire and air quality concerns are still significant in and around Arcadia.
Our goal and plan is to reopen on Monday, January 13. We will continue to monitor all local conditions and provide an update by Sunday evening regarding the status of our schools for Monday, as our staff will continue to make assessments and improvements through the weekend. Please continue to check your emails as well as our Facebook page for updates.
We appreciate your support as our staff are hard at work cleaning up our campuses and making sure they are safe to resume teaching and learning.
Our hearts go out to those in our community who have lost their homes or are currently dealing with evacuation orders. Please know that you remain in our thoughts during this difficult time.
Thank you all for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Arcadia Unified School District

It's important to understand the difference between an **Evacuation Warning** and an **Evacuation Order** for your safety:
Evacuation Warning: Be prepared to leave as conditions may get worse quickly.
Evacuation Order: Immediate danger. You must evacuate now to protect your life and safety.
Being aware of these distinctions can save lives. Always take warnings seriously and be ready to act. Your preparedness can make all the difference.
My first segment produced for @scifri aired last Friday! You can now listen to it on Spotify. In the episode, Dr. Janet Currie and Dr. Andrea Titus discuss the health benefits of congestion pricing, inspired by the recent events in NYC.
