@matthewjwright0@andymcgeady Bulls forward simply doing his job (very well). The ‘jackal’, now used by all 15 players rather than 2 or 3 forwards, is the prob. Crazy dangerous to drop over top with nose on grd and arse in the air every time a ball carrier goes to ground. Head above hips / win the collision
@Gibson_XL@evans_marke Maybe a team should have a player removed if the go 10 points up? Plenty nail-biters for the fans. Pretty shit as a competitive sport though. Frequency of red cards is a blight on the game. No longer a true contest.
@ObjectinSpace16@RuckedOver@evans_marke A red card fundamentally alters the remainder of the match. Bath may have won at a canter. They might not. A young player has to sit out the rest of the match so a replacement can be brought on. Plain daft to suggest frequent use of red cards is a positive for the game.
Hearty congratulations to everyone involved in a great season. Promotion seasons are rare and hard won. Looking forward to catch up with everyone on Saturday for the Guernsey game (I thought that would be the promotion snatcher!) and at the Centenary dinner. #blackandamber
@AndyGoode10 100%. Small grp of a gen of pro players who have only really ever asked “what can the game do for me?” happy to bankrupt a 150yr old sport which has and does bring so much to so many. The lessons have been learned. If any, the neg was with pro clubs. This is now only about cash
@Chick_Chalmers@wintsrugby None of these incidents are ‘red card’ offences. Most entirely accidental. Much better if the sane rugby world shouts that loudly to World Rugby rather than screaming inconsistency and “what about this one and that one”… it’s demeaning of the sport.
@ProgressiveRug As ridiculous a statement as your encouragement of this sort of officiating. Utterly clueless. Chickens coming home to roost, game by game at RWC. Total embarrassment. Accidental head collisions are a thing in a high speed contact sport
@OnsideRecruiter@DannyCipriani87 True, Elko. The maverick expects all the other players to match their skill/game intelligence. The best players and coaches understand the strengths and weakness of the group and find a method that produces winning rugby. The fans love a talented maverick but much prefer winning
@brettruganalyst It’s simply embarrassing. Too many nodding dogs amongst us to call out this game ruining lunacy imposed by @EnglandRugby , who are supposed to be custodians of our game. This nonsense will be applied in Level 3 / Nat1 fixtures in the coming weeks!
@damianirvine@LiamHog1973@PScully13 Aside from those self inflicted, we’ve all had bad head knocks from activities other than in one sport we play. Cycling, skiing, falling over (drunk or otherwise!), falling from trees as kids, car accidents. Gov bodies in RL & RU should defend these compensation driven actions…
@alexwagener1@patrick41116180@haribaldijones@AndyGoode10 This is the great ‘catch 22’. In my view and the view of many experienced players like Goodey, the game will die if law interpretation continues to ignore the fact that all head contact is not intentional or due to reckless action. Football refs even get this. Ref spot on here
