Today is National Boone Day.
There’s been chatter on X about why Hollywood isn't making Daniel Boone movies or shows.
Can't speak for Hollywood, but this is my Boone novel. Based on a true story.
So stories are being told, you just have to dig a little deeper to find them.
@HistoryBoutique As someone who's written a Revolutionary War historical drama, it's SHOCKING to me that so few movies, shows, books have been released in the run-up to the 250th. Not at all the vibe that existed for the bicentennial.
Which comic book creator was responsible for the death of Gwen Stacy?
Who came up with the infamous SNAP! ?
Turns out it wasn't Gerry Conway (exactly).
All that and more in this informative interview by @ChristianDMZ

@BenjaminCrew1 Lots of comments saying the scope of the war is too massive an undertaking for a film, but not every story has to be the all encompassing. Could easily dial in on a single battle like, say, one that isn't widely known:

Christmas is coming.
You need gift ideas.
For the reader in your life, may I suggest my Daniel Boone novel, The Last Battle of the Revolution.
Based on a true story.
Adventure. Drama. Romance.
And with America 250 on the horizon, it's also timely.
@FischerKing64 Even more mindblowing, the war continued in the West even AFTER Cornwallis surrendered (see the Battle of Blue Licks which occurred in Kentucky in 1782, which *ahem* happens to be the subject of my book, The Last Battle of the Revolution) https://t.co/62dJZIsNkM
@loganclarkhall @Test11527 The only Daniel Boone biography I've ever passed on. Soon as I saw the note from the writers that began, “As two white men…” where they apologize for having to use the word “Indian” or something or other, I put the book back in the shelf and walked away.
@TheVallyD Ah, I remember the MTV Geek/Pow! Media collaboration—I was one of the writing finalists on the Seekers thing. Did Stan actually write that treatment?
