During a panel discussion at the 10th World Cities Summit in Singapore, Mayor Samuel Dusengiyumva (@DusengiyumvaS) highlighted Kigali’s people-centred approach to urban development, focused on healthy mobility, accessible green spaces, active lifestyles, and inclusive communities, guided by the principle of Umuturage ku Isonga (Putting people first).

“In #KigaliYacu, we believe that a healthy city is measured not by the number of buildings it has, but by the quality of life it provides for its people,” he said.

Today, the Mayor of @CityofKigali, Samuel Dusengiyumva, joined global leaders at the 10th World Cities Summit in #Singapore and participated in a panel discussion themed “Cities for People Leadership: Are Cities Good for Your Health?”, exploring key challenges related to urban liveability and sustainability.

During the session, Mayor @dusengiyumvas highlighted #Kigali’s bold vision for advancing smart, inclusive, and resilient urban planning.

Later in the afternoon, High Commissioner @IBMuhizi received him for a courtesy call at our office. Their discussion covered a wide range of issues, including opportunities to deepen bilateral collaboration with Singaporean urban and infrastructure developers.

The discussion underscored several strategic priorities, including:

This afternoon at the State House in Gaborone, President Kagame and President @duma_boko held a tête-à-tête meeting followed by bilateral talks with their respective delegations.

The two Heads of State then witnessed the signing of bilateral agreements and Memorandums of Understanding between Rwanda and Botswana on avoidance of double taxation, visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official, and national passports, air services, health, economic, trade and investment cooperation, as well as collaboration between the Rwanda Development Board and the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre.

The commemoration also underscored the need for justice and accountability, with calls for the prosecution of remaining genocide suspects still at large.
