Michał Urbaniak was the first person I'd ever seen play a lyricon. I couldn't believe that wind instruments could do this. He was a hell of a violinist as well. RIP
Lô Borges passed away. Clube da Esquina was the whole reason I wanted to learn Portuguese when I was 18-19. That was album was my life. I've listened to everything he made over and over again, I've always loved his approach to songwriting. Praying for his family. RIP
I know Whit Stillman mostly made indie films but I still think he's overrated. His movies all give me that "I read a lot of French literature and I don't like black people" energy
My heart is broken today upon hearing news of Hermeto Pascoal's death. His music changed my life 10 years ago and reignited my passion for music. One of the greatest musicians of all time, thank you for everything I will miss you dearly 🙏🏿
I learned so soo much from his approach to jazz. Brilliant trumpet/flugelhorn player and a hell of a keyboardist like his brother Gap. I used to hear Feels on Good on local smooth jazz radio everyday from age 4 to 9. RIP 🙏🏿
I'm hearing in various jazz circles that Benny Golson has passed away at the age of 95. I'm awaiting official confirmation and very much hoping for it not to be true.
Absolutely gutted over the passing of Shaun Martin. What an incredible person and amazing musician. I could imagine Snarky Puppy or Kirk Franklin's music being the same without him. RIP
