🚨 We are demanding accountability from @KCBD11 and morning anchor, James Eppler @JamesEppler for his unacceptable and racist remark made on-air about BTS.
While discussing the new @BTS_twt x @Oreo collaboration, Mr Eppler commented the cookie designs spelled out “Death to America.”
This was not humor. It was ignorant, disrespectful, and harmful rhetoric directed not only at BTS, but also at millions of Korean and Korean-American people who already face harmful stereotypes and xenophobia. Casual racism towards Asian artists and communities should never be normalized or dismissed as a “joke.”
BTS have spent years promoting love, unity, and cultural connection across the world. They, and the communities they represent, deserve the same respect any other global artists would receive.
We expect:
• A public acknowledgment and apology
• Accountability from the station and anchor involved
• Stop using racist rhetoric as a punchline
Do better.

i think we might be witnessing a shift in the music industry in real time. i’m no conspiracy theorist but i have a hard time believing spotify getting caught lying in broad daylight then ending charts that calculate direct fan engagement and now having music institutions releasing statements about streaming fraud isn’t all related. something’s going on…
and i wouldn’t be surprised if all this has a lot to do with the obvious success of arirang in comparison to the industry’s precious darlings. arirang is forcing the industry to take notice whether they like it or not.
i’m really curious to see what the industry plans to do about the grammys. do they award the obvious choice or stick to the status quo? there are still several industry darlings with releases this summer however as of right now bts have zero competition for album of the year when it comes to having both commercial and critical success and i’m sure that has pissed off a lot of people.
BTS’ “SWIM” (6 weeks) is now the longest-running #1 song on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart in 2026, surpassing Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” (5 weeks).
This streaming shit is a joke!
A billion dollar DSP prematurely posts “record breaking” numbers before the tracking day even ends, gets caught padding streams from different songs together, then quietly walks it back after the entire internet already ran with the narrative!
And niggas still wonder why people side eye these industry manufactured records and accomplishments!
It took BTS one album and 14 tracks to do what this man needed three albums and 43 tracks to do.
So ARMY does not need to be nervous about success. BTS is fine. More than fine, actually.
BTS has never needed to cheat the system. They make great music, show up for ARMY, break records, mind their business, and then everybody else starts rearranging the furniture because the numbers make them uncomfortable.
The rest of the conversations are just noise.
But ARMY also needs to stop expecting these systems to be fair. They are not fair. They have never been fair. They will never be fair. The rules will always move when certain artists start winning too much.
So when Spotify wants to blur artist totals, album totals, catalog totals, metadata, manual reviews, and whatever other calculator gymnastics they have going on, fine. Keep that same energy for everybody.
And if BTS ever and I mean EVER drops:
RM of BTS
Jin of BTS
SUGA of BTS
j-hope of BTS
Jimin of BTS
V of BTS
Jung Kook of BTS
Plus, a full group album credited to BTS, all at the same time, with the metadata attached to the BTS brand, I don't want to hear a single syllable from anybody.
Not from chart accounts.
Not from the industry.
Not from fandom accountants.
Not from people suddenly discovering “fairness” when BTS benefits from the same system.
Count it the same way for everybody, or be quiet.
BTS did it with one album. Birkin BBL booty needed three.
Stream ARIRANG. 💜
. @BTS_twt has been named The Guinness World Records "ICON" by GWR.
They are the Only Musical Group in the List.
"Icon Status" is a prestigious honor bestowed by the organization to celebrate legendary record-holders and prominent global figures who have shaped the world.
#JungKook and @Latto's "Seven" debuts at #1 on the global Spotify chart with 15.995 million streams, breaking the record for biggest opening day for a collaboration in the platform’s chart history.
We’d like to apologize for the misinformation regarding the reported record. “Seven” by #JungKook still holds the record.
Unfortunately, @Spotify shared inaccurate data, causing unnecessary confusion once again.
#BTS's history-making masterpiece, 'ARIRANG', is the best-selling album of 2026, moving over 9.7 Million units worldwide, as per chartmasters!💪🌊🔝💰💿2⃣6⃣ 🔥👑👑👑👑👑👑👑💜
