I think I’m lucky to be able say that my head is almost always full of ideas. There are SO many things I want to do and learn!
This painting captures the energetic dance of ideas pulsing through my mind.

At times I feel I should be focused on my work to the exclusion of happiness and ease. Afterall, who has time for ease when there’s so much work to do?
I made this painting to remind me that I have permission to be happy, any damn time.
Do you fall into this false trap too?
If you would like to practice your figure drawing, I host virtual drawing sessions on Wed. evenings, 7-9pm EST. Tomorrow our subject will be Michelle Obama!

Tomorrow the Kitchen Table begins!
It’s a group of peers supporting each other as we work towards our goals over Q2. If you have A Thing you need to work on in Q2, and you need support to keep yourself on track, this is for you.

Here are the first + last paintings of my project.
My technique smoothed out over 100 days of daily painting, I became very familiar with my palette, AND I got fast! This is only a fraction of what I learned.
I’m curious to know if you’d like to try a similar project.

This painting, “Brief Surge,” is about a fleeting sensation of a surge of…motivation? to do a thing I want to do. For a brief moment my heart was lifted and, if I put my hands and mind to the task, it would happen without effort.
A recent milestone for me was completing the 100 Paintings project. I’m so very grateful for the project and all it has taught me.
Here is my classic white spiral on a stable field of amethyst. The glowing sky above symbolizes excitement and possibility.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to learn is to allow myself to feel my feelings.
A big one was allowing myself to feel sad, even when things seemed objectively good. The only way through it is to feel it.
This striking, original watercolour painting, “A Surprise Sky,” is available for the remarkably low price of $39 + postage.
Comment or DM if interested.
