@misskaren1981 I feel blessed to have been of the generation to have sat and watched that as it transmitted and had to stifle my tears as a teenager until I got a quiet minute to myself. Powerful finale but what an amazing trilogy 2,3 and 4 were.

@shitscaredmum Was there last year with my dad - hold that hand, squeeze it, stroke it one more time those small almost undetectable touches resonant beyond anything after the inevitable happens
Companies should of course make profit, but when energy companies are making billions more than even they expected, whilst small businesses are getting squeezed in a death grip by utility bills surely something is wrong…? 🤷♂️
Jesus this is a good summary and take down of the absurdity of the position all got themselves in. Ironically it’s behind a Murdoch paywall!

NEW: Broadcast union @bectu which represents many BBC staff says: “This is a deeply concerning decision from the BBC…taken with the ongoing controversy over the appointment of the BBC chairman…it risks given the impression of double standards on these issues.”
Presumably BBC will be asked to explain which of its guidelines were broken and why other regular presenters, contributors, comedians, actors who tweet political views are not in breach. Hard to see Lineker coming back now.
Labour: “The BBC’s cowardly decision to take Gary Lineker off air is an assault on free speech in the face of political pressure. Tory politicians lobbying to get people sacked for disagreeing with Government policies should be laughed at, not pandered to. BBC should rethink.”
this guy totally gets to the heart of the real Tory strategy on stop the boats 👏 #bbcqt
“They can’t run on their governing record, sewage in the rivers, living standards, they can’t run on personalities, so what do they have left? Division, us vs them”
