@miamiguydylan@Jeter45 All reports say he asked for more term and wouldn’t budge. He settled for what he could get. Props to Zito for not being strong armed.
@Bcallow_74 This sounds like Blackhawks fans when they traded Seth Jones just for him to be an integral part of a cup and return back to (beyond?) his prior form. Maybe, it’s not the player?
@nystevo_@ESRsenal2@DireRavennn@MikeBartner You’re literally proving the point that you can have the best goalie on the planet and still have an absolute dogshit team. Adin Hill and Brandon Bussi have rings. Helly, Sorokin, Shesterkin have 0.
@stevezieskidoo@NHLHodgkinson There’s no goalie on earth that will guarantee team success. Lundqvist, Price, Luongo, Rinne, CuJo….. list goes on and on. Bob was 36 with 2 Vezinas, benched for backups, and arguably on the worst contract in NHL history before getting his rings.
@BetweenThieves7@MikeBartner Exactly, Bob was a product of circumstance like 99% of goalies who find success. If this wasn’t the case, Winnipeg would have recent cups, as would the Rangers and Islanders.
@BKHockeyTalk@ESRsenal2 Yeah, it’s a huge part of it. But if you didn’t have that data, as you don’t with Markstrom, you’d say Bob’s a mediocre goalie based on his regular season numbers. After all, he got sat down the stretch in all 3 cup runs for no name backups.
