Ever wondered about the story behind Land is Life? 🌍 Born 33 years ago, in a forested valley outside of Rio de Janeiro, in a village called Kari-Oca, where nearly 1,000 Indigenous leaders had gathered to send a message to the world.

LAND IS LIFE , KENYA
"Indigenous People are at an increased risk of losing their land and territories due to evictions and accusations of environmental destruction that are being used to pave the way for the green colonialism of national parks, game reserves and carbon markets. Indigenous people exist in an already marginalized environment, and their vulnerability to the negative impacts of climate change is very evident.
For instance, in Kenya, in 2022, Indigenous ""pastoralists lost over 4 million head of cattle due to droughts that were immediately followed by flooding that led to loss of livelihoods, as livestock were swept away by raging waters. And in this fabric of vulnerability fabric, women and children are impacted the most, in part because women have to ensure availability of food within their households."
