I’m not sure yet, I wanted to install it first just to reproduce a bug. I don’t want to rush and replace it with the new version completely, that’s for sure

Guess I have to install Xcode 27 to check my Oysia app for issues on iOS 27. Got a report already, something isn’t right.
Besides, there are other minor changes I need to introduce before the major update. Working simultaneously on both!

There are so many vibe coded apps being released daily, so people naturally paint every app as vibe coded.

With Oysia it’s not the case. The core — both the server and the client side I built manually, no AI. The majority of work was done last year.

To be fair, now I do use Claude code for extra snd new things, but the core stays the same.

Hi! Glad to see you liked it.
For now, as the city coverage is not that large, I’ve been adding them manually. However, I thought about using AI based on the data set I already have. The main challenge is — the quality of it and pictures. Currently, all the places you see in the app are those I’ve actually visited, and the pictures are mine. Besides, I don’t want to recommend some untrusted places. But there are other ideas I’m thinking about to scale in the future.

Published a small technical update of Oysia today. Now photos load faster, animations are smoother, and it eats less network traffic.

Fair question! It's a mix — the filter was "is this place special", never the price tag. So there are pricey spots for occasions, but also everyday coffee shops, bakeries and diners, and a few free picks. If nothing in your city fits your budget I'd honestly want to hear that — that's useful feedback.

I’ve been to every of these places myself, the photos are mine as well, not taken from any online resource.

These are truly my recommendations, and it’s better imo that Google Maps because of the curated selection, that’s the point

Many mobile apps could be integrated into any AI chat bot instead. Why do you need to have a food delivery app if you can use Siri to show menu and order everything?

Just imagine — a phone without apps, only Siri — a unified interface. Scary future for mobile devs.

@pcshipp Building is only one part of the job, the second is promoting. I guess those who built many things but didn’t see real usage might have given up 🤷🏼‍♂️

@mariosaputra I think all the ad platforms have their own hidden retention and expiration policies. After a while they just won’t show your stale ad to new people. Plus, they want more money from you, every ad has its user per cent ratio

Can’t wait for iOS 27 kicking in and forcing devs and companies to update their apps for Liquid Glass.

It’s so frustrating to see this outdated keyboard in X 🙄
