Ok, trying this again.
I have been working on my very first book (about women of early punk in the USA) for three years. My publication day is set and it's the day before my next birthday!

It'll never make sense to me why people worship the wealthiest people on the planet, whose every action contradicts their values, thinking they are part of some populist movement, while in reality, are falling for obvious conmen who will use their power only to enrich themselves.
@yashar He has time to request equal time on NBC. Besides, isn't Elon Musk turning Twitter into a GOP hellscape & bribing voters far more significant election interference?
@BinghamLowe@DerrickEvans4WV@ColonelMark4 Yes, all the democrats who wave around confederate flags. If you actually read a history book, you'd know the parties changed ideologies in the 20th century.
@NLuccha@WSJ How is mid-August to mid-June 7 months? And that's only if you believe teachers don't work outside school hours during the school year or in the summer (hint: they absolutely do).
@NLuccha@EileenAdams3@WSJ How is that overpaid? To live comfortably in Chicago, you need to make at least 90k. Where are you getting 7 months from? Teachers work September to June (that's 10 months) and usually outside school hours (so more than 40 a week) AND during the summer.
@lilycloud9@WSJ First-year teachers make far less than that; in many states, half or less than half of that. If you want better educators, you have to pay them better. Good teachers run from the profession because it's thankless and demanding & then get blamed for everything that has gone wrong.
What a wonderful day to have off work! I slept in and woke up (quite late) to the news that "Hit Girls" was named to NPR's 2023 "Books We Love" list.
