Proud of these young ladies and I’m stoked the local media included 7 softball players total in their top 22 athletes to watch this year in high school athletics!!
@Kreager You are talking about state championships. I’m talking about daily competition. I have seen teams at Zion go into conference play having only lost a few games knowing that they have won the last game of the season. And no amount of practice could fix it-not healthy competition.
@Kreager Exactly! The reason ZCA left TSSAA is that there is not a place for them. Is that the solution? Ignore the small schools until they leave? We would like to get back in at some pt. More classifications would help. We are grateful for an AD who are putting our kids’well-being 1st!
@Kreager But team wise the frustration that these athletes have to endure to play in this classification is so detrimental mentally and physically to them. I feel like we would have many more exceptional athletes if they had hope about team competition and post-season.
@Kreager It’s a myth that ZCA doesn’t care about athletics. Every year we have athletes that go to the next level-around 60 in the last 20 years including my daughter who plays D-III softball. Currently we have 2 alumni playing Div I sports, 1/2
