Today was a wonderful day of learning and collaborating at our district math PD. Thank you to all of our teachers who presented today. I’m so thankful to work in a district with wonderful educators dedicated to improving their craft.
Making the longest # chain where the next # in the chain is a multiple or factor of the previous number. You can only use the numbers 1-100 once in the chain. So far our longest one uses 54 numbers. How long can you go? #thinkingtasks#randomgroupwork@nrichmaths@jcityTNschools
Excited to watch several of my students perform during the “Rejoice in the Arts” at the Mall of Johnson City this evening! They did such a great job!

Having fun collecting and using data based on how often students can get a paper football through the goal posts. Dot plots, frequency, relative frequency, mean, median, mode and range… and who has the best measure of center?
One thing @northeaststate drove home was the need for soft skills, such as collaboration and problem solving. @ConnerGlenda30 and Liljedahl’s Building Thinking Classrooms are helping my students develop these skills, while building motivation and perseverance. #JCSTechLeads
If you can dream it, you can create it… even a career path. Have you heard about air taxis?? Yes, they’re a thing; look it up. Just one of the careers @northeaststate is preparing our students to enter. #JCSTechLeads
Enjoyed learning about all @northeaststate has to offer. Higher education doesn’t just mean a four year college. With a placement rate of 98%+ and free tuition through TNPromise, students can graduate at 19/20 and start their career… some even making six figures! #JCSTechLeads
Had a great time at #TCEA2023! Loved ending the conference with #Lesliefisher ! Thanks #JCSTechLeads for making this possible. Loved learning about neat tools/functions to make education more effective for my students. Can’t wait to pass on all the great info!!
Learning more about what Google has to offer, especially enjoyed learning about the transcription feature and how I can utilize it and closed captioning on Google Meets to better communicate with ELLs and their families. #JCSchoolsTechLeads#TCEA2023@Kelliebowman17
Learning how to code using Legos to create an alarm and track the different colored Lego animals that pass the sensor by our tent. Problem solving, coding, repeating an algorithm, tracking data and discussing solutions. #JCSTechLeads#TCEA2023#LEGOeducation
Graphing inequalities on a number line is more fun with cards, dice, candy and group work. Roll the inequality, flip the integer and create the number line using the candy (or cereal for an open circle).
